Functional Training

What is it?
  • Exercise that involves training the body for activities performed in daily life
  • Weight bearing activities targeting core muscles of the abdomen, lower back, and upper and lower extremities

After-Care Program:

  • Will be a continuance of the exercises and stretches that are being done in Physical Therapy combined with what the patient would like to improve on
  • Can begin with a general exercise program with cardio and strengthening exercises and will progress to more specific movements.
Example: If the patient has been in therapy for knee problems, the after care will add upper body exercises that have not been performed during Physical Therapy
  • Program will emphasize what the patient wants and needs
